1 About Bt Research

Bt Research (ISSN 1925-1939) is an open access peer reviewed journal devoted to a bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). The journal publishes high quality original research on all aspects of Bacillus thuringiensis and Bt toxin affecting the living organisms, as well as environmental risk and public policy relevant to Bt modified organisms.

 

Bt Research is published online by the MicroSci Publisher, an independent publishing platform in life science based British Columbia of Canada.

 

2 Aims and scope

The journal publishes high quality original research on all aspects of Bacillus thuringiensis and Bt toxin affecting the living organisms, as well as environmental risk and public policy relevant to Bt modified organisms. Topics include (but are not limited to ) Bt strain identification, novel Bt toxin discovery and bioassay, transgenic Bt plants, insecticidal mechanism of Bt toxin as well as resistant mechanisms of target-insect to Bt toxin.

 

Bt Research is particularly keen to publish the original research and review article from authors in countries where the Bt modified crops are widely used in commerce in order to provide a forum for advocator, protestor and middle-of-the-roader.

 

The criteria of publication in the journal are comprehensive insights that are not only of broad interest to Bt researcher, molecular breeder and geneticist, but also attractive for the public who are interested in GM Bt products and biosafety.

 

3 Publication mode

We are following the Open Access publishing model. All papers published in this journal are licensed to all users under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution License 3.0 (CCAL), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any media, provided the original work is properly cited (see MicroSci Publisher Open Access Policy).

 

4 Criteria for publication

4.1 Similarity check

All submissions must be subjected to CrossRef's plagiarism check by CrossCheck. Only those without any similarity compared in the CrossCheck database can be proceeded for peer review. Plagarism check in this journal is solely for the purpose of submission language arts and does not imply any plagiarism or forging existed.

 

4.2 Peer-review

Scientists in the world are invited to be as peer reviewer in this journal. All submission will be automatically transferred online to the reviewers by Manuscript Handling System in the MicroSci Publisher prior to CrossRef plagiarism check by CrossCheck.

 

4.3 Online publication

5 Publication period

Bt Research promises to offer much faster publication schedules. Normally it takes two or four weeks depending on the speed of peer review. Using the recommended manuscript preparation formats will largely speed up the paper procedures and shorten the periods. Research articles will be published electronically in provisional PDF immediately upon acceptance. A fully HTML web version and PDF download version will be available within four weeks after acceptance.

 

6 Indexing and archiving

All articles published in Bt Research will be deposited in CrossRef with the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) identity, for details pls. see Instructions for Submission.

 

7 Preferred citation

Articles in this journal should be recommended to follow regular citation rules. There is an exception for unique article series and DOI instead of the page number.
